Gunmen Kill 10 Family Members in Afghanistan’s Khost Province

In a devastating attack in Afghanistan’s Khost province, 10 members of the same family were killed when armed assailants opened fire on their home. The incident occurred on the night of January 28, 2025, in the village of Bukhani, located in the Alishiro district.



Local authorities confirmed that the attackers entered the family residence and fired upon them, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, including three women. The identities of the victims have not yet been made public, and the motives behind the attack remain unclear.

Mustaghfir Gurbuz, a spokesman for Khost's provincial governor, stated that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings. He added that the arrested individuals will be handed over to judicial authorities after further investigation.

The attack has raised alarm about the rising levels of violence in Afghanistan, where civilian casualties continue to increase. Although the identities of the attackers have not been confirmed, this tragedy underscores the ongoing instability and security challenges facing the country.
