Tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate as both nations increasingly rely on drone warfare to strike deep within each other’s territories. Recent developments indicate a surge in Ukrainian drone attacks on key Russian regions, including Moscow, Saratov, and Kazan. In response, Russia claims to have intercepted more than 158 drones across 15 different locations.
According to Russian authorities, Ukraine launched drone strikes on multiple sites, including the Kaluga region south of Moscow, where a fuel storage facility was set ablaze. A similar attack targeted Engels in the Saratov region, home to a critical Russian military airbase. Additionally, Kazan—located over 1,000 kilometers from the frontline—also came under attack, signaling Ukraine’s ability to strike deeper into Russian territory.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted dozens of Ukrainian drones, including 12 near Moscow. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military officials claim their operations have disrupted Russian supply lines in eastern Ukraine, leading to intensified ground combat in strategically significant areas. While both sides assert military gains, independent verification of the full extent of damage remains limited.
