Donald Trump Sworn in as the 47th President of the United States for a Second Term

Donald J. Trump has been officially sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, marking the beginning of his second term in office. The inauguration ceremony took place on Monday, January 20, inside the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C. Due to severe winter weather, the event was moved indoors from its traditional outdoor location.

The ceremony was attended by former President Joe Biden, along with past U.S. leaders such as Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. Prominent business figures, including Elon Musk, were also present. Approximately 800 guests witnessed the oath-taking inside the Capitol Rotunda, while an additional 1,300 attendees were accommodated in other designated indoor areas.

Following his swearing-in, President Trump delivered his inaugural address, declaring the start of what he called a "new era of American greatness." He emphasized his administration’s commitment to sweeping policy changes, particularly in immigration, trade, and environmental regulations. He outlined plans for stricter border security, renegotiation of key trade agreements, and a reassessment of climate policies enacted by previous administrations.

Vice President J.D. Vance also took the oath of office during the ceremony. Shortly after the event, President Trump signed several executive orders, including measures imposing new import tariffs and revising immigration policies. His administration has signaled that these early actions will lay the foundation for a broader shift in governance.

Trump previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. After winning the 2024 presidential election, he has returned to the White House for a second term, becoming the first U.S. president in modern history to serve non-consecutive terms.
