The tragic story of two little sisters losing their legs in an Israeli airstrike has left the world heartbroken. 💔

In September, Shaima Al-Daqi woke up early to take her daughters, Hanan (3) and Misk (22 months), for their polio vaccinations. 💉 Even in the midst of war, charities were doing their best to ensure children in Gaza received essential vaccines. 🏥

But the next day brought unimaginable sorrow. An Israeli airstrike took Shaima’s life and left her daughters critically injured. 😢 Hanan had to have both legs amputated—one above the knee and the other below—and she also suffered injuries across her body. 🩹 Misk lost her left leg. Their father, Mohammed Al-Daqi, is now in the hospital with severe brain and chest injuries. 🏥

Their aunt, Shefa Al-Daqi, described their suffering: “For four months, it feels like we’ve been stuck in a nightmare.” 😔 She added, “Hanan and Misk are living in constant fear. They cling to us, too afraid to let go.” 🫂

In Gaza’s overcrowded hospitals, where supplies are scarce and doctors are overwhelmed, there’s no room for the psychological care the girls urgently need. 🏥

This devastating story reveals the true extent of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza 🌍 and reminds the world how crucial it is to help and protect its children. 🤝
